Hiring a professional genealogist is both a financial commitment and an exercise in trust.
My goal is to make the process as clear as possible.
We start with a free phone consultation so you can share your research needs. We will figure out a research objective(s).
If you aren't sure of the complexity of the project, a Research Plan might be a good place to start.
If you already know what information you want to find, the Standard or Advanced Research Project may work best.
If your research need and my expertise seem like a good fit, we move on to Step 2.
Once we decide to work together, I will email you a Proposal or an Engagement Letter that includes your research objective, an estimate of the number of hours the research will take, and the deposit amount.
After a handful of weeks, you will receive a PDF Research Report with a summary of findings; a brief narrative including resolution of conflicting or missing evidence; source citations; copies of documents; and suggestions for further research.
YOUR research objective becomes MY personal quest!
I will do my best to find the information you are looking for.
